Hamburger reduces recycled containerboard output in Hungary & Austria
More down time is scheduled this month for Hamburger Containerboard at its mills in Hungary and Austria, in order to balance the market. This will cause a reduction in their containerboard output by 10k tonnes.
European stock figures of corrugated case materials are now almost 20% higher than last year, which means that some export orders can’t be produced in a cost-efficient way based on actual raw material prices.
They will also be curtailing around 6k tonnes of white-top test-liner capacity by October, following their investment projects in W. Europe. This means that Hamburger Containerboard will have reduced the available total capacity by 15% in Aug and Sept.
Hamburger can produce 580k tonnes/ pa of recycled containerboard at its Dunaújváros mill, Hungary. In Austria, it has two recycled containerboard mills: the 170k tonne pa Frohnleiten facility and the 410k tonne pa Pitten mill.
