Hamburger Containerboard output to reduce in Dec/Jan

Hamburger Containerboard is set to curtail its recycled containerboard output in December 2011 and January 2012.
The company has scheduled further downtime at its mills in Hungary and Austria in order to balance the market. This will reduce the firm's recycled containerboard output by 35,000 tonnes.
As a result of good capacity utilisation by its corrugated customers (particularly due to seasonal demand and the subsequent downtimes of their corrugated board clients), Hamburger Containerboard have made plans for their own plant shutdowns.
These shutdowns reduce the demand of recovered paper and other raw materials as well as the risk of inventory build up.
Hamburger Container Board expects stable margin contribution due to a reduction in material costs and stable sales prices.
The firm intends to reduce its total available capacity at the end of 2011 by 25%.
