Antalis acquires Ambassador packaging business for £28m
Cheshire-based paper merchant, Antalis completed the purchase of Ambassador for £28m at the beginning of January. As well as the Jiffy bag series, Ambassador supplies a wide range of protective packaging, including corrugated board products, tapes, bubble wrap and strapping machines. The new acquisition is expected to more than double Antalis’s packaging turnover and the specialist packaging business has now been rebranded Ambassador Antalis Packaging which will continue to operate as an independent business. Including the Winsford base, Ambassador has a number of regional sites across the UK, employing approximately 100 staff. Ambassador Antalis Packaging will report in to Antalis Packaging Business Unit, which is based in Germany.
A representative from the company reported: “Working within the European Antalis Packaging Group will bring many future benefits such as an extended logistics network and the ability to offer a much wider range of packaging materials, systems, solutions and services not only in the UK but all over Europe.”
