An industry-backed initiative to have every printed corrugated pack made in the UK featuring an internationally recognised recycling logo has been launched. The Corrugated Recycles campaign is backed by the Sheet Plant Association (SPA) and the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI).
The shared vision is for UK box companies to adopt the Corrugated Recycles logo, which is widely used in the Americas and the Far East. Take up of the logo is beginning in the UK, with SPA members in particular taking the lead.
You can freely download CPI guidance notes and a digital copy of the Corrugated Recycles logo from this page.
Corrugated board has the highest recycling rate of any packaging type in the UK, at 84%, and saves an area the size of Greater London from landfill every four months.
SPA Chairman and MD of Arden Packaging Graham Sutherland said the simple, low-cost logo would benefit end consumers and corrugated producers
