We will employ best practice in HR for your benefit…for example McKinsey's 7-S Model can be utilised in reviewing and optimising structures:

  • Strategy : provides the vision and the direction for the organisation (often including key goals and objectives) and a sense of what successful achievement would look like.
  • Structure : defines how the organisation needs to be structured to effectively meet its requirements both current and in the future. Includes role composition.
  • Staff : includes the sort of staff that you will require numbers, qualifications / experience, geographical locations, age ranges, educational levels, et cetera.
  • Skills : includes descriptions of skills, knowledge and capabilities that people within the organisation at different levels need to possess and use effectively
  • Style : refers to the way that things are done within the organisation. Of particular importance is managerial style. However, other style aspects may include tolerance of risk taking, communication style, involvement of staff, et cetera.
  • Systems : refers to the systems that are required to run the business effectively. This will include “hard” systems (such as computer systems and procedures) as well as “soft” systems (such as communication and “how do we deal with this sort of issue?”)
  • Shared Values : describes the values and beliefs that everyone must own and live out through their actions.
